One of the worst ideas you've ever heard? [Petition]

Every time we think the gun lobby and their allies have hit bottom, they manage to stoop lower.

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos wants to use federal education funds to buy guns for teachers. There is so much wrong with that idea, I hardly know where to start.

We need to use those scarce federal tax dollars to help teachers better educate our kids, not turn schools into armed fortresses.

We need fewer guns in classrooms, not more – and definitely, not an NRA-backed hall pass for gun makers to rack up more profits!

Sign the petition: Add your voice to the growing list of people telling Congress that this is one of the worst ideas you've ever heard!

This is one gun safety victory that's within our reach: Congress has the power to quickly close the loophole in education funding rules that Secretary DeVos intends to exploit.

Tell every lawmaker on Capitol Hill that you refuse to let your taxes go toward arming teachers.

They're listening, believe me. But they won't hear you if you don't speak up. Every voice counts, just like every vote counts.

Please sign the petition today. Tell Congress: no money for guns in schools.
