Inspired in West Virginia

I had a terrific time in West Virginia yesterday, campaigning with my friends Talley Sergent and Richard Ojeda.

Talley and Richard are both native West Virginians who have dedicated their lives to service — Talley in the Senate and State Department and Richard as a 24-year Army vet and devoted public school teacher.

They're the kind of candidates that will define the next generation of leaders in our party: relentlessly authentic, locally grounded, and unafraid to challenge a broken status quo.

And here's the thing: After years of being let down and led astray by their Republican representatives – on health care, on jobs, on education – many folks in these two deep red districts are hopeful for the first time in years. They're turning out in droves to support Talley and Richard.

These seats are in reach for Democrats. Pitch in to help Talley Sergent and Richard Ojeda flip seats in West Virginia.

Talley and Richard embody a belief I hold deeply: politics is about showing up. Everywhere and anywhere there are people who need help, problems that need fixing, or injustice that needs remedy. They've spent the last year covering every inch of their districts, talking with folks who feel forgotten, abandoned, and left behind.

If Democrats want to win big on Tuesday, in 2020, and beyond, then we need to show up. In every community, every state, and every corner of this country.

Let's show up for Talley Sergent and Richard Ojeda for Congress. For West Virginia. For America. Pitch in to flip Congress.
