Sign the petition: Tell the Senate to stop discrimination and pass mental health parity.

Mental health parity sounds complicated. It's not, really.

It simply means that insurance companies cannot discriminate against patients struggling with mental illness or substance use disorders. Just like they cannot discriminate against patients with preexisting conditions like cancer or heart disease.

Mental health parity is already the law. And it's fair.

But over and over, corporate insurers have failed to cover essential mental health treatment. A recent study found that over one-third of respondents covered by private insurance struggled to find a single mental health therapist who would accept their insurance.

That's wrong. Tell Congress to stop this discrimination and pass mental health parity.

That's why I authored the Behavioral Health Coverage Transparency Act. It's time to make sure insurance companies are held accountable to our laws.

Too many Americans suffer in silence because of the stigma attached to mental illnesses and substance abuse. Those that do come forward to seek help face a myriad of barriers to getting the care they need. The last thing these patients and their families should face is a discriminatory health care system.

I need your help to make this bill a priority in Washington.

Sign the petition. Tell Congress: ensure mental health parity for everyone!

Thank you for fighting with me.
